Reelfoot Lake-50 year Management Plan...

R-21 and R-22 Canisters

These canisters contain Freon gas. They were used routinely as duck decoys on Reelfoot Lake. These large dark floating objects appear to be large schools of birds floating on the lake to a duck that is flying high above and looking for a place to land. The problem here is that the Freon gas containers still have some residue gas inside them. A complaint filed by Al Hamilton, followed up with a conversation with Ron Fox, Director of Operations at TWRA, Barry Sulkin, Environmental Consultant and Renee Hoyos, ED of TCWN resulted in new regulations that prohibit these containers on Reelfoot Lake.
