The Tennessee Clean Water Network (TCWN), in collaboration with the Knoxville Public Art Committee and the City of Knoxville, is seeking proposals for original, two-dimensional designs to be printed and wrapped on outdoor water bottle refill station as part of the Bringing Tap Back Project. Bringing Tap Back is a state-wide initiative paid for by a Project Diabetes grant from the Tennessee Department of Health. The project raises awareness of the importance of drinking water by providing free and accessible water bottle refill stations in public spaces. Three designs will be selected to be featured on six water stations for the duration of three years beginning in the spring of 2015. Each design will appear on two stations. The selected artists/designers will receive a $500 honorarium for their design. Artwork should be visually compelling, both to encourage use of the water stations and to stand alone as public artwork.
